What are the warning signs?
|You're struggling to adjust to recent life changes.|
|You want to be alone and isolated.|
|You don't enjoy the same activities that you once used to - things aren't fun anymore.|
|You're sleeping too much or not enough.|
|You're eating too much or not enough.|
|You feel hopeless.|
|You feel very moody - one moment you're happy and the next you are very sad.|
|You constantly feel irritable, sad or angry.|
|You have decided to gather pills.|
|You have gotten access to a gun.|
|You are now very interested or disinterested in religion.|
|You are using drugs and alcohol to feel better.|
If you find yourself saying, or hear someone else saying the following, please reach out to a trusted friend, co-worker, counselor or parent.
- “I want to kill myself.”
- “I wish I were dead.”
- “I’m going to end it all.”
- “If (such and such) doesn’t happen, I’ll kill myself.”
- “I’m tired of life, I just can’t go on.”
- “My family would be better off without me.”
- “Who cares if I’m dead anyway.”
- “I just want out.”
- “I won’t be around much longer.”
- “Pretty soon you won’t have to worry about me.”
